Chris Bosh fancies a Miami Heat rout over the Charlotte Bobcats – NBA Recap
Three nights after a Dwyane Wade clutch jumper had helped Miami Heat escape against the Charlotte Bobcats, the two teams met again on Sunday night, this time in Heat’s own back yard, the American Airlines
Arena.
The game turned out to be a total contrast to the game one of the series, as the Heat bulldozed the Bobcats, missing their third 40 point win in franchise history by only a point at 129-90.
On a night, when LeBron James’ first field goal was Miami’s last shot in the first half, Chris Bosh led the scorers with 24 points and 10 rebounds. 20 of Bosh’s points came in the first half. Dwyane Wade was
sensational as ever and chipped in with 22 points and 6 assists while LeBron ended the night with 16 points, nine boards and five assists.
After the game, Wade seemed satisfied;
"I think we're where we should be," Dwyane Wade said. "I think we're only going to get better."
Miami’s point guards also made their mark on a night when everything went right for the Heat. Mario Chalmers made 6 of his 7 shots, including a perfect 4 from distance; to score 16 points while Norris Cole,
Miami’s rookie PG also scored 16 on 6 of 8 and also dished out 9 assists in just 20:03 minutes.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra heaped praise on his team after the game, which saw the Heat lead by as many as 46 points deep into the fourth half;
"We came into the game with a very heightened sense of having the ability to concentrate. It speaks to our guys' professionalism."
For the Bobcats, nothing clicked, especially early in the game.
D.J. White was the only player making shots for them up front even when other starters froze in their steps. White made his first attempts from the floor, while the rest of the Bobcats made only 3 of 22 in
the first half. He finished with a 10 of 12 effort for 21 points while rookie Kemba Walker and Derrick Brown came off the bench for 17 and 13 points respectively.
"Just one of those games where nothing went right," Charlotte coach Paul Silas reflected back after the game.
Miami got off to a 17-4 start and pushed their lead to 33-15 on a Cole layup to end the first quarter. The onslaught from the Heat continued and within the first four minutes of the second quarter, they jumped
to a 46-23 lead. By the end of the first half, the advantage ballooned to 65-37 and after a 12-5 run to open the third; Heat put the game to ice.
