Chris Bosh proving to be the matador against the Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference Finals
Defending the Miami Heat power forward Chris Bosh has been the biggest challenge for the Chicago Bulls, so far in the Eastern Conference finals. The breath-taking performances of the Miami power forward have been the major reason
why the Heat are leading the best-of-seven series, 3-1.
Throughout the regular season and even on the road to the Conference Finals, Bosh was happy to take a back seat as the duo of LeBron James and Dwyane took the centre stage. This is no longer the case now. Sticking up for LeBron
James and Dwyane Wade will not be enough for the Bulls to get back into the series. Therefore, the Bulls have to keep an eagle’s eye on Bosh, who is averaging 24.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in the series.
In this series, the 27-year-old power forward has reminded us why Pat Riley and Wade were so eager to land him as third cog of the Big Three. Bosh has had game-highs in the first and third games.
The dazzling Bosh had an eye-catching game on 15 May, leading all players with 30 points in game-1. Bosh also grabbed nine rebounds in 37 minutes of play, shooting 12-for-17 from the field, however Miami lost that game. He didn’t
have much to do in game-2 as James and Wade got in their groove, scoring 29 and 24 points respectively. However, Bosh still added 10 points and eight rebounds, scoring 8-of-10 free throws in Miami’s 85-75 victory.
But, Miami needed Bosh once again in game-3 as the Bulls defence homed in on the James and Wade. The five time All-Star responded bug time and led the Heat with a game-high 34 points in a 96-85 win against Chicago. He was unstoppable
throughout the game and made 13-of-18 shots, many of them coming on short jumpers. Bosh scored 10 of his points in the crucial fourth quarter, propelling the Heat to a 2-1 lead in the series.
The outstanding performance of Bosh in the third game was even acknowledged by the Bulls coach, Tom Thibodeau. He said, "Bosh was terrific right from the start of the game, very aggressive. I thought we allowed him to get his confidence
early. He is hard to close down once he gets going like that."
On Tuesday night, Bosh chipped in with 22 points and six rebounds in the Heat’s 101-93 overtime victory over the Bulls in game-4, leading the series with 3-1. Bosh shot 6-for-12 from the field.
His teammate King James, who led with 35 points re-iterated the significance of Bosh in the game, "C.B. had it going." "When we have someone going on our team, we continue to go to him."
With Miami on the cusp of knocking out the Bulls from the finals, the men from the windy city need to admit the significance of Bosh. Their centre Joakim Noah has failed miserably in containing his opposite number and Tom has plant
another option in his place. Thursday night might be the last chance for the Bulls to revive their season journey. However, to do so they have to stop the Chris Bosh juggernaut.
