Chris Bosh says he is fully healed, rested and ready to go for the upcoming season
The Miami Heat won the NBA championship last season, but had their share of bumps on the road. The Heat lost Chris Bosh to an abdominal strain during the closely contested Eastern Conference Semi Finals against the Indiana Pacers,
and Dwyane Wade played through the playoffs with a knee injury that required surgery. Bosh came back for the NBA Finals, but was not fully healed as well. Both players decided to opt out of the London Olympics and rest the summer in order to be fully healthy
for the next NBA season.
Bosh recently said that his abdominal strain is now a thing of the past, and that he has fully recovered from the injury. Talking to the Miami Herald, Bosh revealed that he is fully rested and ready to defend the NBA championship
next season.
“I feel good. I feel real good. I’ve been pretty eager to get back with training camp looming and everything. I’m real excited to get back, start working. I’ve been in the gym a few times in the past couple weeks and that itch
for basketball is there. I’m glad it’s there and I’m looking forward to this season. It’s behind me. But I still have to pay attention to stretching and strengthening all the muscles in the core around it and everything. It’s something that I just can’t forget
about,” said Bosh.
The news will come as a sigh of relief for the Heat fans and coaching staff, as well as their top two players. Even though LeBron James and Dwyane Wade take care of much of the stuff on the floor, they have both said in the past
that Bosh is the most important player on the roster. His ability to get into the paint and grab rebounds on both ends of the floor gives Miami the balance that this team needs, as it is not very good in defence, particularly rebounding.
Also, Bosh is a good shooter and his ability to space the floor with his shooting gives James and Wade the opportunity to do what they do best on the offence. His return is a good sign for Miami and their title defence.
