Chris Bosh rubbishes criticism from Shaquille O’Neal – NBA Update
Miami Heat star forward Chris Bosh has come under fire recently from retired NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. The Diesel has alleged that Bosh isn’t on the same level as his esteemed teammates, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, and is
lucky to be part of the trio.
Bosh did come under criticism of this sort in the past, and has decided to deal with O’Neal’s comments in a light vein. Chris believes that it’s Shaq’s prerogative to say what he thinks, and he is probably just saying stuff like
this to get some publicity and drive up the sales of his new book.
"I know the thing is entertainment," Bosh told the Sun Sentinel. "How are you going to get people to buy your book?
"So I don't care about stuff that is said in the media or in books or pointed or directed toward somebody, because it's really just a tactic and nothing else. He's an author. He can write whatever he wants. If he sells a bunch,
then congrats to him."
This isn’t the first time O’Neal has tried to pick a fight with the Heat power forward.  When Miami battled, and lost, against the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals this past season, Shaq referred to LeBron and Wade as the “Big
Two” as opposed to a Big Three that also includes Bosh.
But Chris has refused to bite back.
"It's just him having fun. I really don't care," Bosh said of O'Neal's latest salvos. "I've kind of moved on."
It’s taken a lot of courage and character on the part of Chris Bosh to withstand criticism of this nature, which has been going on ever since his arrival in Miami. Bosh and James signed for the Heat as free agents last summer,
and their coming together in South Beach with Dwyane Wade was hailed as the formation of a new Big Three in the NBA.
However whispers started almost immediately, questioning Chris’s standing alongside his other two star colleagues. LeBron James is a two time NBA MVP award winner and is widely regarded as the best and most complete player in the
world today. Wade has been a phenomenon ever since he came into the NBA and has got an NBA Finals MVP award to prove it, alongside an NBA World Championship.
Bosh spent 8 years with the Toronto Raptors, where he was undoubtedly the franchise player ever since Vince Carter left. Chris racked up the numbers every season and was a perennial All-Star, but analysts do not believe him to
be in the same category as James and Wade, who are perhaps 2 of the 3 best players in the league at the moment.
