Chris Bosh says all the sacrifices for Miami Heat were worthwhile – NBA Update

Back when he was at the Toronto Raptors, Chris Bosh used to be the face of the franchise. Championships, or even the thought of it, however, seemed liked distant possibility down there, and in the summer of 2010, the power forward
decided to join the Miami Heat, alongside the likes Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.
At the south beach, it was all about the NBA title, but to accomplish the aim, sacrifices had to be made.
And the biggest sacrifice was perhaps made by Bosh.
Playing alongside LeBron and Wade, Bosh has to take a back seat. There were no more freebees, and in the absence of a quality point guard, the power forward had to create his own scoring opportunities. That affected his game a
lot in the first season, but gradually Bosh adjusted, so much so, that head coach Erik Spoelstra now calls him the most important player on the team.
Bosh’s significance to Miami came under the spotlight, when he had to miss several playoffs games last season after straining a muscle in lower abdomen in the game 1 of the second round series against the Indiana Pacers. His absence
opened a huge hole in the Miami lineup and they lost the next two games, the third one by a blowout. James and Wade eventually helped Heat overcome the odds, but it was only after the arrival of Bosh in the Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics that
Miami got really hot.
Heat eventually went on to win the championship, and now that Bosh looks at the past, he thinks that although painful, it was all worthwhile;
“It’s difficult,” Bosh said while talking to HOOPSWORLD recently. “It’s been difficult, but it’s all for the team and that’s what’s most important. I didn’t quite understand it when I first got here, but I’m starting to put the
pieces of the puzzle together. Things came together for me a lot last year and I’m just trying to improve in that role. I’m trying to do what the team needs me to do night in and night out to be effective.”
“It shows the sacrifice that guys are willing to make just to have a chance to win a championship.” He added.
Miami have made a great start to the season, and with time they are only going to get better. Bosh now plays as a centre, and has also developed a good outside game to add more pedigree in his arsenal. He is about the most athletic
big in the league and a perfect fit for the small ball system that the Heat like to play. Given their combination and chemistry, if Heat do not win another championship this time around, it will be a major surprise.
