Former West Indies captain and the premier batsman of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Chris Gayle, has revealed that he was under immense pressure before the match against Delhi Daredevils and is ecstatic to have scored
a hundred in the crunch game.
RCB is a star-studded team but it has struggled in the current season because of some poor bowling displays. The franchise went into the match against Delhi with a ‘do or die’ attitude as it was a must-win game for the
visitors.
Gayle rose to the occasion and scored 128 unbeaten runs, which came off only 62 balls with the help of seven fours and 13 massive hits out of the park. His innings helped RCB to win the match by a handsome margin of 21
runs.
As a result of this victory against the Daredevils, RCB’s hopes in the tournament are still alive and the team is likely to qualify for the play-off stage of the tournament.

Gayle, who has been out of international cricket since the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Cricket World Cup 2011, admitted that he was under pressure to deliver the goods before the match and considers the innings as the best of his illustrious
career. Former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 captain expressed that he always plays well in trying circumstances.
“It was a pressure game for us. Definitely one of the best innings for me. Trust me, I was under a lot of pressure. That brought out the best of me and that I’m happy to get the opportunity to score.
I just wanted to go out in the middle and express myself,” said Gayle.
The left-handed batsman further added that his team has not played up to its potential so far and the side needed him to perform against the number one team of the current season. Gayle also praised the performance of Virat
Kohli, who ably supported him and scored a half-century to help his team’s cause.

“We were in a pressure situation and I was little depressed. In pressure situations, you will get a better Chris Gayle. I was excellently supported by Virat (Kohli). The pitch was on the slower side early on,” he added.
