Chris Gayle asks WICB for an explanation – Cricket News Update
Caribbean estranged batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 Cricket Board (WICB) to give an explanation as to for what reasons he is needed to apologise for or what statements should he retract in order to secure his much needed spot on
the national roster.
The Gayle and WICB conflict just does not seem to come to an end after the Board recently urged the star all-rounder to come out and apologise to WICB and take back all his statements which he claimed against the governors earlier.
In response, Gayle has now once again come out loud, asking WICB why he should apologise to the board.
“They need to put out, to apologise for what. They need to state clearly what Chris Gayle should apologise for rather than keep saying they don’t want an apology, they want me to retract statement now,” Gayle said on Tuesday.
“They need to come clear and say what are the terms; really and truly. So they need to make it clear rather than stating just one particular thing and leaving the public to speculate again, and just make this one big issue which I’m tired of, so they need
to just cut it out now,” he added.
The conflict initially sparked off during the last International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) World Cup, where Gayle made an unexpected departure from the team, especially during West Indies’ quarter final assignment, leaving a much infuriated team’s Coach, Ottis
Gibson.
However, the matter took more build-up, after the batsman opted to appear for his Indian Premier League (IPL) side, Royal Challengers Bangalore, rather than keeping himself available for the national team’s home series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755.
As a result, Gibson, along with the WICB management axed Gayle for his negligence, leaving him out for the team’s next assignment against the Indian tourists and then on the proceeding away series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747.
In response, Gayle stepped out against the Board and made some emotional statements publicly, revealing WICB’s behaviour with the player, which according to him, had been going on for some time.
As for the recent development, looking at the current status of the whole matter, the conflict may still need some time to come out with an eventual resolute, since both the parties remain persistent to their own notions.
