Stuart Broad, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013’s strike pacer, on Wednesday said that Chris Gayle is not a concern for the English team at the moment, as the batter is not part of West Indies’ Test squad.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 are currently touring England, where they will play three Test matches, the first of which was played at the Lord’s cricket stadium, London.
The tourists had a batting collapse in the first match, and there are rumours that the West Indies may recall Gayle, the left-handed batsman who has made himself available for selection following the elimination of Royal Challengers
Bangalore from Indian Premier League (IPL5).
Broad, sharing his views on facing Gayle, said, “We haven't looked at any footage of Chris. He's not currently in the squad so we'd be silly to do that. If he gets named in the team we'll do our research and of course we expect
to see him in the ODIs and T20s, but until we hear otherwise he's not on our radar.”
England lead the three match series 1-0 with the five-wicket win at Lord’s. The second Test match will be played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, and starts from Friday, 25 May.
A win for England would give them an unassailable lead in the series and their number one status in International Cricket Council Test rankings will remain intact.
Nottingham is Broad’s home town and the lanky pacer has very fond memories of playing there.
Broad got a hat-trick, the last time he played at Trent Bridge, during the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/P-Kumar-c2143 on three consecutive delivers
and hopes of accomplishing a similar feat against the West Indies.
“It was definitely one of the highlights of my career. I love playing here. It's a fantastic ground, the home support is brilliant and looking back to last summer it was great to get the win. I don't think it could have been much
better. It was a Saturday evening about 5pm and the crowd was really livelily,” the 25-year-old said.
