All-rounder Chris Gayle will be returning to the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754.
Gayle last played for the West Indies in the extended-overs format of the game during the Windies’ tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/S-Chanderpaul-c2390, and
top-order batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Assad-Badyr-Fudadin-c46573 who recently made his debut against England earlier this year.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DM-Bravo-c1386 are absent from the line-up. The first Test of the series begins on July 25 in Antigua, while the second Test will be played in Jamaica,
from August 2 to 6.
Expressing his happiness at his recent record-breaking Test score of 311*, South African batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/HM-Amla-c1557 has insisted that team performance takes precedence over individual goals, and he is happy to have put the team in a dominant position in
their ongoing Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013.
“... records will be broken, there's no doubt about that, so that comes and goes,” he added. “But I think the biggest pleasure is that the team is in a really dominant position to win this test match. I think that's the biggest joy.”
Amla’s 311 is the highest Test score by a South African batsman, the 20th highest individual Test score ever, and the sixth Test triple hundred to be scored in England. In addition to the records, the batsman’s score has enabled http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 to
gain an upper-hand in their first Test against England, currently being played at the Kennington Oval in London.
Medium pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Neil-Wagner-c79182 is hoping his performances in New Zealand’s recently wrapped-up warm-up match against the West Indies Board President's XI will reveal how hard he has been working, and earn him his Test debut.
“It was pretty tough out there”, the 26-year-old said. “The conditions weren't easy at all. So I knew I had to fight hard and obviously I want to show that I'm pretty keen to hopefully get a crack on this tour and I know that opportunity is not going to
come around every time.”
The 26-year-old has claimed a total of 238 scalps in 55 first-class matches, but has yet to play for the national team. His 3 for 65 against the WICB President's XI however, may earn him his Test debut in the upcoming 2-match series against the West Indies.
