It ends his 15-month international exile following a settlement with the Windies’ Cricket Board over an issue which first came to surface during the World Cup 2011 – Gayle’s last appearance for the Caribbean giants.

After representing the Challengers in this year’s IPL , where he emerged as the purple cap holder with 733 runs, he made himself available for the national team duties – foregoing a contract with English County http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Somerset-c843.
He missed out playing in the ongoing Test series, which his side currently trail 1-0, but was inducted into the ODI squad for the forthcoming 5-match series against the Poms, starting at Hampshire’s home in Southampton on June 16.
His presence has managed to attract crowd and the fixture was already a sold out event before Hampshire decided to increase the no of seats – making room for an extra 2000 as confirmed by Rose Bowl Group’s commercial director Zac Toumazi.  
"Gayle is, without doubt, one of the finest allrounders in limited-overs cricket at the moment and obviously proves a huge draw for fans," commercial director, Zac Toumazi confirmed. "In addition, I think we have a solid fan base of cricket-lovers who come back to the venue year after year because they know how good the ground is at hosting international matches."
