Chris Male might take on Bantamweight champion Joe Murray – Boxing news
The British national Super Featherweight, Chris Male could go against Bantamweight champion Joe Murray for his next week’s six-round competitive bout if both the fighters agree to the terms and conditions of the final fight contract.
The fight is scheduled to take place on June 18, 2011 at the Robin Park Centre in Wigan, United Kingdom. The fight will be aired on Sky Sports as part of the Hatton Promotions show.
Many boxing fans and critics are of the view that the fight would be more than an opportunity for Male as another positive step towards his growing boxing career.
However, the fight does not have definite chances to happen because it has been taken out before a month from prize bids but still there are possibilities as the fighters are not afraid to go against each other.
Male is very hopeful if the fights happens it would be very beneficial to him. The involvement of Hatton into that fight can bring a multi-fight agreement for him. Male knows it will be like a definite promise of many title shots at domestic level.
If Murray declines, Male could go against former Wales champion Dai Davies for his next week’s fight.
Going against Davies would be the toughest test to date for Male. However, Male is determined to show what can he do to please Hatton.
Male said, “Obviously, I am going to want to look good for Ricky Hatton, they are big up-and-coming promoters in this country and I am going there to make a statement, that I am one of the best featherweights in the country. I have seen Davies fight a couple
of times, he’s really strong and pushes the prospects hard, he’s no joke and I wanted somebody I could get up for. But the top guys seems to be able to get him out of there later on and that’s my goal.”
Let’s see who Male takes on for his next competitive bout.
