Chris Martin hopeful of performing well in the Champions League T20 – Cricket News Update

The 36-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Canterbury-c775 paceman said that every bowler gets a very short spell of overs to bowl in the T20 format of game and one has to be very careful as the game proceeds.
"Being a bowler, you only have 24 deliveries to make an impact on the game. You have to be pretty careful and deal as the game progresses,” said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Christopher-Alroy-Martin-c50714 while talking to media reporters on Tuesday.
“I played in the World Cup, played T20 in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 and enjoyed taking the new ball. And I want to do well in this tournament," he added further.
Martin will be playing for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Auckland-c766 Aces in the CLT20 qualifiers. When asked about his expectation in the upcoming tournament he said that it is a step by step process and their main target at the moment is to qualify for the main event.
The right-arm medium pacer made his International debut in November 2000 and has always been considered as a better choice for Test cricket. In his decade long International career, he has played 61 Tests (199 wickets), 20 One Day Internationals (18 wickets)
and only 6 T20 Internationals (7 wickets).
However, his domestic List A and T20 stats are quite encouraging. He has 177 List A wickets to his name from 132 games, while in Twenty20s he has picked up 46 wickets from 55 matches at an average of 31.82.
Martin was the most successful New Zealand Test bowler, after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792 and Ahmedabad Test matches and hoped that the experience would help him a lot in the CLT20.
"As a Test playing team, I played pretty good cricket over here against India. I do enjoy playing in sub-continent, I enjoy the heat, I enjoy the crowds. It is one of the pretty big stages you can play on," he said.
The qualifying round of Champions League T20 will commence in Hyderabad next Monday, with a match between Auckland Aces and Kolkata Knight Riders.
