Chris Nash commits to Sussex
Opening batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chris-Nash-c1247 has committed his future to Sussex by signing a new three-year contract, which will keep him at the county until the end of the 2013 season.
The 27-year-old joined the county back in 2002 and has scored a career total of just under 5,000 runs. He now looks set to be one of the opening batsmen for Sussex's attack on the first division of the
county championship next year.
"I am delighted to have extended my contract until the end of the 2013 season.
Next season is going to be a very exciting one back in Division One and we are working very hard to make sure we can challenge for all three trophies," said Nash on
the Sussex website.
Nash is a very productive player at the top of the innings for Sussex. His signature can allow coaches and officials at the club to build a team beneath him, good enough
to compete on all fronts next season.
A good player
Nash is a very efficient player at the top of the order. He has a first class average of 38.48, which is better than the majority of batsmen playing in division one.
His versatility is going to be crucial over the course of next season. He can play very defensively if the game situation demands it but he is better when he is going after
an opposition attack.
His new contract takes care of one position and now allows club officials to switch their focus. There is still a lot of time between now and next season, which means there
is still time to hunt and sign up new players.
"On a personal level, I would like to replicate my 2009 Championship form,
whilst also building on my one-day and Twenty20 form from the past two seasons," added Nash.
Betting advice
Nash will be a good player to back next season in all games. If he prepares well then there is no reason why he cannot score big hundreds from the first game. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sussex-c852 is worth
an outside bet at the division one title.
