Chris Paul, Dwight Howard - NBA stars in need of a support option: NBA Feature (Part 1)
Chris Paul:
The New Orleans Hornets’ guard Chris Paul is certainly a very good player. His role in the Hornets’ roster is very important and currently he is the only talented player who can provide some stability to his team. He is another
player who needs a good sidekick to excel in the league. At the moment, no other player in the Hornets’ roster has provided him some kind of support to carry forward the offence burden. He is all alone and cannot help the Hornets in the upcoming seasons.
Last season, he played total 80 games and averaged 15.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game in the regular season and continued his great form in the first round playoffs. The Hornets’ played its first round best of
seven series against the Los Angeles Lakers where Chris Paul showed some great performances. Though, the Hornets were defeated but Chris Pauls’ performance impressed many. In total six games, he averaged 22.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 11.5 assists per game.
Later some basketball experts also appreciated his brilliant performance
To give some support to Paul, his team has to take initiative to include some more talented player in its roster. David West and Carl Landry will probably leave the Hornets in the next season as they both are free agents now. Giving
them another contract will release some pressure from Chris Paul but still the Hornets need to land a prolific sidekick for Chris Paul if they want to excel in the league.
Dwight Howard:
The Orlando Magic centre Dwight Howard is one of the very best players in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Since drafted by the Magic in 2004, he never played for any other NBA team. His true commitment with his current
team shows his great character and self belief. Though, he never won a championship with the Magic but earned a great name as an individual player.      Howard has been named five times NBA All Star, three times NBA defensive player of the year and won a NBA
Slam Dunk Contest in 2008.
Despite his so many achievements, he is still waiting for a championship ring. With the Magic, he has spent almost seven years now but could not win a NBA title. The main reason why Howard is still without a championship ring as
he always carried his team’s offence alone. No other player in his team tried to help him throughout these years.
Last season too, he played tremendously and proved wonderful as the Magic qualified for the playoffs. Not in the regular season, Howard played tremendously in the post season. He played total 78 regular season’s games and averaged
22.9 points, 14.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Later in the post season, he averaged 27.0 points, 15.5 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game in total six games against the Atlanta Hawks.
After the next season, Howard will become a free agent and will try to find another team if the Orlando Magic does not include any supporting player to provide some extra force to Dwight Howard.
