New Orleans Hornets vs. Utah Jazz
West’s team high 29
David West left the game with a knee injury, withering in pain as the team left for the locker room after a hard won overtime win against Utah Jazz, at 121-117. The forward played splendidly and contributed team high 29 points in a game that earned him more
than points. He finished by pinning 12 of 25 shots and pulled out five free throws in the win. The player highlighted the game with his 37 plus minutes of action.
Paul’s double-double
Chris Paul had a tremendous double-double in the victory. The Hornets guard made 24 points and sealed game high 12 assists in 43 plus minutes on the floor. He also made 8 of 9 free throws in the contending victory.
Jack in his 30 minutes on the floor
Jarrett Jack was one of the players who uplifted the game for Hornets coming off the bench for over 30 minutes. He registered 15 points, playing confidently, and posted a shot from the long range on a 5 of 11 overall shooting.
Gray’s uplifting game for the Hornets
Aaron Gray played an exceptional game for the Hornets. The entire team was full of praise for the reserve, who scored 10 points and played 19 minutes, grabbing eight rebounds in the win.
Teammate, Paul later appreciated the 26-year-old and said, "Aaron Gray was unbelievable for us. They tried to foul him and he went to the line, knocked two down, went back to the line, knocked another two down. We could have laid down when we lost D-West,
but we saw it as an opportunity to lift one of our brothers up."
Millsap’s spirit lifting game for Utah
Paul Millsap had a great command over the ball. The Jazz forward easily registered the first six of his seven shots. The 25-year-old did his best to keep his team from stumbling, and in the meanwhile posted 33 points, 11 rebounds, dishing out four assists
in the loss. He made a commendable 13 for 20 shooting from the field and netted 7 of his 8 free throws. Millsap who was very disappointed on losing the game later said, "Nobody wants to lose; it just happened. A guy hit a tough shot. They just had more energy
than we did."
Jefferson in his defensive role
Al Jefferson also held his team with a smooth game. The center had 22 points and grabbed team high 13 rebounds, while finishing on an 11 for 17 shooting from the field.
Bell’s energetic game
Raja Bell was also full of energy, standing at the fore front of his team rescuing them of the offence held by the opposition. He propelled his team forward in the loss with 13 points and grabbed five boards in the loss in 44 plus minutes of action. The
guard hit two three-pointers playing good defence and also pinned 5 of 6 free throws.
