CAREER STATS

...........G|Min...|FG% |3PT% |FT% |Reb |PTS |Ast |Stl |Blk |TO

Paul.......222|36:47.|45.6 |33.7 |84.0 |4.5 |18.2 |9.5 |2.3 |0.1 |2.5

Williams 242.|34:23.|46.6 |37.4 |77.4 |2.9 |15.3 |8.1 |0.9 |0.2 |2.8

Williams shots a better percentage

Paul Has more points, steals, assists, and rebounds

Paul plays more, thus giving him higher stats

Williams has to share the ball with better players, thus reducing his stats

Williams is stronger

Paul is faster

Williams has beaten Paul more in Jazz Vs. Hornets games

Both are terrific point guards. Honestly, i don't think one is better than the other. I do believe that Williams has more durability though.

WHO DO YOU THINK IS BETTER

  1. If i had to choose one ..i'll go with Deron Williams

Why ? Because i know that he will win if they had to go against Each other ...

    Plus he is pretty clutch

  2. i personally have to disagree with you. i am shocked that utah turned down New orleans's trade offer paul for williams. they did this KNOWING how much pressure it would put on deron williams. i think paul is better, but not a lot better, and if the trade was accepted, not putting quite as much pressure on deron, i think he would be a better player than chris paul.

  3. if i had to choose one in a game .. i would probably pick chris paul..he is one of the best if not the best point guard in the nba today...but they both still hav a long way to go and neither has hit their prime yet.. but today i would pick paul

and to the guy who said williams has more expience..they both got drafted in the same year

  4. I know Chris Paul is a better player even though stats do mean anything. Chris paul i a better all around point guard and can help any team he may be with. Deron is only good for the Utah Jazz.

  5. Chris paul

Deron williams is a terrific and a clutch player but chris paul lead his hornets team to the playoffs and almost won against the spurs but chris paul, has the leadership and i think is a better b-ball player.

  6. Paul is better LMAO AT USING CAREER STATS.

PAUL AND DERON GOT BETTER THIS YEAR so its da dumb to use all der seasons.

CHRIS da man and is the better passer, less TOS, both ballers betta at guarding other types of playas.

Paul locks down da quick man

Deron locks down da muscle man, ya hear me?

So Paul da passer, rebounder, and just as good a scorer.

ITS CLOSA THEN SOME THINK- BUT PAUL FOR DA WIN.

  7. Stats mean nothing ask me this question after one of them win something.

  8. CP! he was a candidate for the MVP!

  9. Williams owns Paul

  10. Paul carried a team with a far worse supporting cast to 2nd in the West, which is more impressive.  He's more of a leader on his team, and i would take him over Williams, though it would be close.

He was also 2nd in MVP voting

  11. Chris Paul

    Great defense...

  12. Chris Paul is a better player but Williams has more exsperience but i think Chris Paul is better

  13. chris paul is way better

more points, rebounds, assists and less turnovers .. enough said

  14. Christopher Emmanuel Paul

  15. right now chris

  16. this is a very tough question but i would have to say paul is better. yes williams has outplayed paul in their head to head matchups but overall i would take paul. their career numbers are misleading giving hte fact that in derons rookie year he only played 29 minutes a game where as paul played 36 and started every game.   you say williams shoots a higher percentage career: well he does have a better supporting cast which makes it a lot easier to get good lucks unlike paul. williams has a bigger body which makes getting the rim more easily. however i will admit that williams is hte much more efficient score. however in the playoffs (where it matters most) paul was simply incredible. in both roudns of hte playoffs he shot over 50% even against a tough spurs defense. so idk this is a tough question, williams is more efficient but paul did it when it mattered.

so IMO, i think paul is the better scorer, williams is slightly more effficient but giving the fact that it is harder for paul to create his shot cuz of his size and williams having a bigger frame, averaging 3 more points than williams and shoooting 12% less is worth it

you said that paul plays more: yes he has in his career b.c of hte fact taht williams played 7 less minutes in his rookie yaer so that is misleading. but his year they played hte same minutes and paul and even though williams had the better supporting cast (boozer okur, ak-47) paul manaaged to score more and dish out more assists.

this assits stat is important because not only did paul get more assists, he was a lot more efficient. paul turned the ball over 1 less time than williams even though he had more assists. so paul is the more efficient passer hands down.

i will say this defensively williams is better. hes bigger and can play with the more brusing point guards. i think he size is hte reason why paul struggles against him. but then again paul also does a decent job holding his growund as well.

finally paul is the better rebounder, even though he does not have williams big strong body.

so when it all comes down to scoring, rebounding, and passing efficiency. i would take paul. pauls creativity and passing created open looks for david west and essential turned a good player into an all star.

i would take paul over williams but the decision wouldn't have been easy
