Chris Paul has a successful surgery on his thumb
Los Angeles Clippers superstar Chris Paul went through successful surgery on his thumb to repair a torn ligament on Tuesday. The surgery was performed by Dr. Steven Shin.
The recovery process is bound to keep Paul out for 8 weeks which means that he would miss most of training camp. He can however be expected to be back around for the season opener on October 31st against the Memphis Grizzlies.
"(The surgery) was something we wanted him to get done now so it doesn't bother him later," Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro told the team website. "He'll be back before the start of the season."
The injury occurred during team USA’s training camp in Las Vegas but the point guard delayed the surgery to take part in the London Olympics. The decision turned out pretty well for Paul as he helped team USA win back to back gold medal at the Olympics by beating Spain in the Final.
Andray Blatche is willing to play anywhere, even in the D- League
Andray Blatche was recently amnestied by the Washington Wizards – a big blow to his young career - and the 26 year old desperately wants to get back on the court.
The power forward has been linked with many teams so far with Miami Heat being one of them. But, so far, no prominent suitors have emerged so far and Blatche is still waiting for any kind of offer. When asked recently as to what he considers his dream destination, Blatche sounded anxious;
“My dream destination right now would be back on the court. For real. Just to get back on the court,” he said. “It’s something I love to do. It doesn’t matter if it’s the Heat or the Spurs or the D League. Whatever. As long as I’m back on the court playing ball.”
There is no doubt that the 26 year old power forward/centre is talented and can be a good asset for any team willing to give him a chance in the NBA. But he would be required to show a certain level of maturity and consistency before he is able to play basketball professionally.
