Charlton boss Chris Powell has gone ahead and praised former Charlton defender and current Arsenal right back, Carl Jenkinson.
Powell has gone on to state that the Gunner is going to evolve into one of the best fullbacks in the world in the near future and that it is only a matter of time before his talents become world famous.
The nineteen year old was signed by the Gunners this past summer and made a move worth around one million pounds to the Emirates. Since then, the player has gone ahead and become the team’s second choice right back and has impressed on a number of occasions
that he has stepped onto the pitch.
Powell, when talking about Jenkinson and his ability to go all the way and become the team’s first choice someday is quoted to have said: "Carl Jenkinson is a wonderful young player and I was surprised that people were looking at him last year and in the
end http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 made the bid and took him from us.
"They've seen all the attributes he has to be a top class full-back.
"It is very early in his development. I thought maybe for at least three to six months they would just kind of get him used to what it's like to be at a club of their stature, but he's been thrown in.”
He then admitted that the player still had a few slip ups every now and then due to the fact that he was still in the transitional phase and needed a little more time to adapt to playing at such a high level.
"Obviously they're in a transitional period and it's difficult. I believe it would be difficult for any player, regardless of their age, with what's going on at Arsenal, but he's got the character to come through that."
"Everyone here wishes him the best. I didn't want to move him on but that's how football is. You can't keep the players quiet at our level."
Arsenal’s current first choice right back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bacary-Sagna-c7148 is now going to be out of action of at least three months. In these three months, the Gunners are going to turn to Jenkinson to fill in for Sagna and try and fill in the void left by the player.
All in all, these coming few days are going to be a real test of Jenkinson’s ability and will prove just how good the player really is. Should he be able to excel, then Arsenal could have a star in the making, otherwise they could have another player with
tremendous potential, with no way of helping him live up to his reputation.
