Chris Robshaw wants England to win – Rugby News Update
Chris Robshaw, the 26-year-old Harlequins and England back-row and the current captain of the team wants his troops to go out and win the second-test against South Africa.
England is currently touring the southern hemisphere country, where they are to play a three-match test series along with two other midweek games. Having lost the first test last week, the back-row wants his team to create history at Ellis Park, by winning
the second-test and squaring the series.
Robshaw was speaking about the stadium before the game on Saturday, he said, "It is where the Lions played their last game and it is so iconic. You run out there and all the players get that feeling of excitement. We want to come here and put our mark on
history. Of course it is not going to be easy but it is extremely exciting and something every player is looking forward to."
The Springboks have only lost at Ellis Park once in the last 10 years, which makes England’s task even harder. They lost to the British and Irish Lions in 2009 in the last test, and Robshaw wants his teams to shock the hosts.
England was not able to score as many tries as they would have liked in the first test, and this was an area that was singled out as a weakness. Stuart Lancaster, the head coach of England has called back Toby Flood into the squad to ensure that his team
has more going forward.
Robshaw is also aware of the challenge ahead. He said, "They have got some big guys. But we are focusing on what we are good at. It is about playing at a tempo and controlling that at the right time."
The England Captain was amazed at the stadium when he took his team there for a practice session. He was over awed by the grandiosity of it, and is looking forward to taking his team to victory.
Robshaw made his England debut against Argentina at Salta, on June 13, 2009, but has only managed to play 7 games for his country, starting all of them.
