http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Samba edges closer to Arsenal switch – Premier League Update
Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 target, Chris Samba seems to be edging awfully close to becoming a Gunner.
The Rovers manager, Steve Kean went on to express his desire to keep a hold of the defender, but, it now seems like the manager has also lost hope on possibly retaining the player’s services. Blackburn have already lost the services of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Jones-c29903, who earlier
on in the transfer window made the switch to Manchester United.
Blackburn Rovers owner, Anuradha Desai has also gone on to confirm the fact that there are already talks going on with other clubs and hence revealing that the interest shown by the Premier League teams in the player is a legitimate one.
Desai is quoted to have said: "I know there are discussions with some clubs."
However, the ultimate decision regarding the player’s future is going to be up to him. Based on that fact, we can assume Samba is certainly going to be parting ways with Blackburn. The player has gone on to express his want to play football at a much higher
level and that he is kind of fed-up with constantly having to fight relegation with the Rovers.
Samba is quoted to have said: "For four-and-a-half years I have been at Blackburn and fought against relegation.
"If a good opportunity presents itself, I want to take it. I hope the club will understand if I want to make the step up and not prevent a deal."
Samba was previously linked with a move to the Emirates in January, a move that the player himself admitted was more than likely to take place, had he not experienced a change of heart. In fact, this change of heart saw Samba pen down a contract extension
with Blackburn, which now sees his contract with the club running until 2015.
According to most experts, Arsenal’s capture of Samba is not going to be as easy as most people are assuming it to be. Apart from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur are also pursuing Samba and as we all know, Harry Redknapp is a far better negotiator in the transfer
market, when compared to Arsene Wenger and for that reason, this deal is anything but done.
Should Redknapp be able to offer Blackburn a much better incentive to letting Samba join them in North London, as opposed to Arsenal, than it is more than likely that he would make that switch. This is because, despite Tottenham not playing in the Champions
League this coming season, they are still a giant leap forward, when compared to Blackburn and might just fancy Samba’s requirements.
