Smalling and Jones have put their weight behind the bid to include http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 in England’s squad for the 2012 European Championships this summer due to his form and impact in the centre of the field for Manchester United...
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Scholes’ return to football has been a good omen for Manchester United so far. The Englishman has done remarkably well for someone who was away from football for six months and then was asked to play right away for the top
team in England. Not only that, Scholes has shown how badly Manchester United might miss him if he opts to retire from football altogether at the end of the present Premier League season as Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 left him out of his squad for the tie against Wigan Athletic,
a match that United lost.
Scholes will return to action for United at the weekend but Smalling and Jones are adamant that the Englishman should also play for England in the summer in the European Championships. Scholes refused to return to international
football in 2010 when Capello asked the veteran playmaker to play for the three lions in the FIFA World Cup but he might take a different course of action this time around.
Jones said, "I remember playing with him for the first time in his testimonial at the start of the season and I thought he was just unbelievable. When you see him in training and the things he does it's just a joke. The positions
he takes up make him like a magnet for the ball. He is always around the ball, he is always there to receive it, is always there to support play and his general all-round play is so good.”
Smalling added to his fellow team mates’ thoughts by saying, "I'm sure he could have the same influence on England as he has done on United. Scholesy is unique. You can see moments in a game when it is all rushed and then he gets
the ball and settles it all down. He has the ability to dictate the tempo of a game. Come the summer there may well be calls for him to be included in the squad and it will be because he is a player in great form. I'm sure he's a player that any http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 manager
would want."
