Manchester United’s young defender Chris Smalling has hailed the performances of the Red Devils’ defensive duo of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand and has claimed that the pair is having an extraordinary impact on his character building.
The young Englishman was signed from Fulham in the 2010 summer transfer window for reportedly 10 million pounds and has managed to make 16 appearances in the 2010-11 season for the Red Devils.
Chris Smalling has insisted that Manchester United skipper Nemanja Vidic, who has proved to be the most crucial element for the Red Devils in the season, has been helping him on and off the field.
Smalling said, “That is why we have been so solid at the back so to have the chance to play with him is a massive boost for me. Vidic is one of the world's best central defenders so to get the chance to learn my trade next to him is invaluable. He is always
talking to me, which makes my job a lot easier when I step into the team.”
The 21-year-old defender has also admitted that it is an honour for him to play along with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550 and Rio Ferdinand. Moreover, Smalling believes that the pair is the best one in the Premier League and to train with the experienced duo
is a real bonus for him.

Smalling added that it was very exciting to be a part of Manchester United’s unbeaten team who are favourites to win a record 19th title but insisted that the same thing puts him under more pressure.
Smalling said, “Being heavy favourites for so many competitions is all new for me. But a lot of the lads have been through this before and pass on their experience. Everyone becomes a lot more focused when you come towards the critical stages of the season.
I honestly feel the fact we have so much experience compared to a lot of other clubs really helps.”
Chris Smalling recently featured in Manchester United’s fourth round FA Cup win over Southampton. The former Fulham defender has been a part of England’s Under-21 team and is yet to get a senior team call. However, it was rumoured that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Smalling will
