The Manchester United defender has come out and added fuel to the fire surrounding the English Premier League title race as he has said that the title race is important to the defending champions because they are competing
against Manchester City...
Manchester United’s latest win against Fulham has propelled them to the top of the Premier League table something that they will want to build upon next month as Manchester City are now chasing them due to a gap of three points
between the two clubs. United and City are the only viable contenders for the Premier League crown at the moment but this year’s title race has gathered even more significance given the fact that it is between two teams that share a place in the same city.
United lost earlier on in the season at Old Trafford to Manchester City by a score line of 6-1 but they had their payback when SIR http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s team knocked out the Citizens from the F.A Cup with a win at the Etihad stadium.
Now as the title race heats up, there is an ongoing war of words between http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrick-Vieira-c29316 and Sir Alex Ferguson and increasing tension in both the camps.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Smalling shed some light on the trends between both the outfits as he said, "It definitely means more because it's City. It's down to us two now and its massive. The media build it up and as players we definitely want to
win it because we know quite a few of their players. It's going to be crucial to get those bragging rights for next year."
Giving his views on United’s injury troubles, the former Fulham man said, "We've probably had enough injuries for most of the teams in this league. Luckily we have the squad to be able to cope but it says a lot about Manchester
United that no matter the adverse conditions we have, whether it's injuries or a tough run of games, we tend to come through it. The manager deserves a lot of credit for that with regard to how he approaches games and uses his players."
