Chris Sutton walks out on Lincoln City
Chris Sutton (pictured right) has resigned as manager of Lincoln City after last night’s goalless draw with Burton Albion.
Sutton handed his resignation to chairman Bob Dorrian, who reluctantly accepted the request, exactly a year after he was appointed, where he replaced Peter Jackson. The news will come as a shock to many Imps fans as the side had been improving over the last few weeks after a poor start, and were hugely unlucky in last night’s match not to register a victory, where they dominated for long periods.
Sutton has cited ‘personal reasons’ for his departure and his assistant manager Ian Pearce has also left the club, which means first-team coach Scott Lindsay is reportedly set to take charge whilst the club look for a replacement.
The club has called a press conference for this evening, where hopefully some light will be shed on these surprising turn of events.
