Chris Tremlett and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Monty-Panesar-c2024 to make it to the Ashes
Cricketers Chris Tremlett and Monty Panesar, once again have been called to experience the Ashes tour. Unfortunately http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ajmal-Shahzad-c42489 will be travelling with the performance team and will not be included in the team. With Panesar’s previous Test factors and
Tremlett’s height, the positions of final spacemen and second spinner were the only ones up for grabs among the settled unit.
It was expected that Shahzad had already done his best in this season, especially with his use of reverse swing. However, he has been selected to be sent with the second string. As for Bresnan, he has been selected to be sent in the main group to provide
all-rounder cover.
Shahzad is expected to fly out with the entire team on the 29th of October. The remaining team was proud for Steve Davies being rewarded for his backup role in the successful one day series.
Tremlett and Panesar are the two lucky players to whom the announcement has made the biggest difference, especially after periods of international wilderness.
Tremlett has not played a Test ever since his successful debut series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in 2007. As for Panesar, he has been ignored after he performed with James Anderson against Australia, at Cardiff, last year.
Chris enjoyed a lucky season, taking nearly 48 Championship scalps at 20.18. Around six weeks ago he was in perfect shape and even though he tailed off towards the end of the summer, he still managed to gain strong reviews. Tremlett is renowned as a perfect
Test match fast bowler, but he has had a battle against a perception that his character is under pressure. Although he will start outside the XI, any injuries to the pace attack will give him the chance to prove his competitors wrong.
In an attempt to revive his England career, Panesar moved from Northampton shire to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sussex-c852 for the 2010 season, and he enjoyed a successful summer with 52 Champion wickets at 25.53. James Tredwell and Adil Rashid were the other two contenders that were back-up
for Graeme Swann.
James Tredwell, who is the famous spinner, gave marvellous performance in Dhaka this year, against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yorkshire-c867 by 732 runs at 45.75 alongside 57 wickets at 31.29.
More tellingly, the famous cricketer Rashid has missed not only the grand squad but also the performance side that will be based in Brisbane and Perth alongside the Ashes party. The popular left arm spinners http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Danny-Briggs-c1315 and Tredwell will be acting as support
to Swann and Panesar.
Geoff Miller, the national selector, says that he believes that the finest players have been chosen for the best game. He says that he is aware of the fact that his team will have to perform at a very high level, and he seems to have a firm faith that he
has selected a squad with the ability to do just that.
He says that there are always difficult decisions that have to be made while selecting an England squad and this selection was no different. Geoff also said that he feels that Chris Tremlett’s inclusion will add a real threat of pace and bounce to our bowling
attack given the conditions in Australia.
There are number of players who are the part of the performance squad, who were the part of England squads in recent times as well. The squad has Tredwell, Michael Carberry and some of the strongest performers from the domestic season including http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jimmy-Adams-c1696,
James Taylor, Yorkshire’s Adam Lyth and all-rounder Chris Woakes.
The performance side will be based in Brisbane from November 13th, where it will play a four-day match against a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Queensland-c834 XI (November 25th-28th), before relocating to Perth on November 29th to play a western
Australia XI (December 7th-10th), and they will remain in Perth for the lead up to the third Ashes test before returning to the UK on December 16th.
