Chris Tremlett excluded from 3rd Test – Cricket News Update
Failing to recover from a hamstring injury, followed by a back spasm, English spearhead, Chris Tremlett, has again been excluded from participating in the upcoming third Test fixture against the touring Indian side, at Edgbaston, Birmingham, on August 10,
2011.
Tremlett developed a niggling hamstring injury during the opening Test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 at Lords which forced the player in making regular exits from the field during the fourth and fifth day’s play. Though the dangerman concluded his spell, earning a
notable 4 wickets haul, however, Tremlett’s niggle did not allow him to continue his partaking on the hosting team during the second Test match, at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. Furthermore, the player’s exclusion from the game also came after Tremlett developed
a back spasm during the practice session prior to the second Test.
As for the upcoming match, although Tremlett had been included on the 13 players’ squad, but, the fast bowler’s failed recovery led him into missing out on the bout that has now raised doubts onto whether Tremlett would be making any further appearance on
the remaining series or not?
“Every day my injury has felt a bit better. It’s niggling a bit. I bowled a couple of times in the week, not at full pace, and it has reacted at times and been a bit sore. The next two days will give me the chance to see how I go in training and I’ll be
monitored to see if I’m fit enough to go into the game,” said Tremlett, prior to his exclusion.
The player regrettably added that he “was desperate to play the last game, but I was pretty honest with where I was”.
For now, the player’s place will be retained by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Bresnan-c2711, who won the hearts of the Trent Bridge audience after delivering an exceptional all round performance during the second Test game against the Indian tourists. Bresnan went on to offer an impressive
run including 90 runs with the bat, followed by a career best bowling performance worth 5 wickets for 48.
Initially http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ST-Finn-c2566 was also offered a last minute call and was brought on board as another likely candidate for Tremlett’s replacement, however, with what the current English roster delivered, it is unlikely that Finn would be seen on the Edgbaston arena.
