Chris Tremlett reckons Indian batting line-up to be a challenge – Cricket News Update
England’s ace pacer, Chris Tremlett, in an interview, has admitted that bowling against the Indian batting line is always a challenge and he will have to show extraordinary skill to nail the Indian batting brigade, which seems to be in an impeccable form
these days.
Speaking to newsmen he said, “You have to say they are the biggest challenge (in world cricket). They generally get runs on the board. But we know if do the right things, we can bowl them out and get 20 wickets. They have great players; they play attritional,
very patient cricket. You need to be very patient yourself to bowl them out."
The 29-year-old, 6 ft 7 inches tall Tremlett, feels that he is ready to take on the Indian batsmen and his side will cause trouble for the visitors if the pitches provide good bounce.
According to him, batsmen from the subcontinent do not like deliveries ramming into their ribs, which causes them to lose focus and ultimately give away their wicket.
The fast bowler admitted that England was currently blessed with some of the world’s most impressive cricketers and it was extremely difficult for a player to sustain a place in the national squad without giving his hundred percent.
Pointing out the absence of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harold-William-Stephenson-c61707 Finn, from the twelve man squad for the first Test, Tremlett stressed that even after taking 50 wickets, the young Finn had failed to secure a place in the squad, which is testament to the
fact that there is a tough competition among players to land a place in the national side.
However, the pacer admitted that he performs better under pressure which makes him a better prospect for the home side against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
Talking about the playing conditions at Lord’s, he said, “If it's not overcast and the sun is out, it could be very flat and batsmen friendly. But when it's cloud-cover, it can swing and nip around the same time."
He appreciated the amount of hype that the series had gained before the start of the first Test, which is due to begin from 21 July, 2011, at Lord's. The tour consists of four Test matches, a Twenty20 and five One Day Internationals.
