Chris Tremlett struggling with the knee injury once again – Cricket News Update
Out of international cricket since January, 2006, Chris Tremlett, the England fast bowler has been struggling with his knee and has not been able to represent his County, Surrey, on regular basis.
The 30-year-old cricketer made his way to international cricket in 2005 but failed to cement his place in the national side until 2010-11, when he played a massive role in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746.
The lanky fast bowler is extremely valuable for the Poms, because of his ability to trouble even the best of the batsmen with his pace and bounce, which he extracts from pitches due to his height.
The Hampshire-born cricketer, who was contracted by Surrey this year, played his last Test earlier this year against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033, before injuring his knee.
Richard Gould, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lancashire-c806,
picking up just one wicket after toiling hard for 27 overs.
The CEO however, is hopeful that the fast bowler will be able to represent the club in the ending stages of the season.
“It’s encouraging that he could be available in our last few games,” said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Captain-Gould-c41006. “It’s a great shame for Chris as he’s worked incredibly hard to get back on the field.”
In the 11 Tests Tremlett has played so far, he has picked up 49 scalps at an impressive average of 26.75 runs per wicket. The tall cricketer failed to break into the squad for the all-important series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 because
of the fitness issues; otherwise he could have been a trump-card for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AJ-Strauss-c964.
Surrey’s coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Christopher-Patrick-Adams-c50949, will also be absent in the team’s next fixture at Edgbaston, but Gould believes that he will not be missed because of the available coaching resources.
“We have a talented pool of coaches who can cover Chris’s absence and his responsibilities lie with more than just the first team. It’s likely to be an arduous final run-in and he will be refreshed for that,” he added.
