Chris Young is on his way to return to mound after a long-time - MLB Update
Scheduled to throw against the Washington Nationals, Chris Young is a latest addition to the New York Mets’ rotation. His experience can be a real source of strength to a side, which is in a desperate need to find a starter who can block runs at start of
the innings.
Young is extremely excited on his return and hopes to make the season a part of one of the most prized memories of his life. Given the kind of situation the Mets stands at, in the season, he can actually go a long way in this regard.
By providing stability to their shaky pitching department, he can plug one of the loopholes.
Stability in the sense that every time one of the Mets’ pitchers throws solid innings in one game, right in the next he suffers a sharp decline and that as a result derails the whole progress. In this connection, Young can show permanence in command. He
can look forward to go beyond the usual pitch-count the management expects and make sure he throws shut-out games.
A potential area of concern for the management will be whether Young can show full liberation from shoulder problem he suffered or not. More often than not, issues with shoulder linger longer than perceived and therefore Young will have a point to prove
as he goes through first outing of 2012 regular season.
To this effect, Young agrees to the point that his throws are not going to be as perfect as they once used to be. However, he wears the pride of precious experience and by bringing it into play in the games he can pull off valuable results, he stated.
"Obviously, my arm is not like it was when I was 25, and I can't expect it to be, but I know how to pitch," Young said. "I'm going to be as prepared and confident going out on the mound. Hopefully that stuff will help, and the results will take care of themselves.
I wouldn't be here if I didn't think I could get Major League hitters out."
First outing against the Nationals will unveil his credentials as to how far he can take the Mets in the season. Therefore, Young will go all-out to earn confidence of the management by putting up a splendid show.
