Chris Young sparks as Arizona Diamondbacks defeat Los Angeles Dodgers 5-4 - MLB Update

Arizona Diamondbacks’ centre-fielder, Chris Young had a remarkable day with the bat as he had two walks including one RBI and went 0-for-3 in the Diamondbacks’ 5-4 win against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles on September 13.
Both teams performed superbly in the first inning as Diamondbacks scored two runs and Dodgers smashed four runs to get a 4-2 lead at the end of first inning. Miguel Montero hit a two-run homer (400 feet) towards right-centre and Gerardo Parra scored a single
run to give the Diamondbacks a convincing lead.
On the other hand, Matt Kemp hit a sacrifice fly to right-field and Dee Gordon posted the first run for Dodgers. The second or tie run was taken by Justin Sellers when James Loney drove a double-run shot to deep right-field. Loney added the third run on
score-board when Aaron Miles singled off centre-field.
The fourth run for Dodgers was taken by Miles when Jerry Sands drove a double-run shot to left-field. The two teams failed to post runs in the second inning. Young walked but Ryan Roberts and John McDonald both flied out while Ian Kennedy ground out towards
third base. Similarly, Gordon also ground out to second base, Sellers managed to ground out to third base and Chad Billingsley flied out to right-field without taking any run.
Diamondbacks reduced their lead 4-3 in the third inning when Montero bunted a sacrifice fly towards left-field and Aaron Hill added a single run. The middle innings went without any run as the pitchers maintained their line. Kennedy threw beautifully for
the Diamondbacks as he pitched his six innings with an ERA of 2.99 and had four strike-outs. He allowed just one walk, four runs, seven hits and four earned runs on his 109 pitches.
Speaking to reporters, Kennedy said, “I wasn't commanding it as well. It wasn't as sharp as it had been, especially with two strikes. I kind of let the team down. It was tough.”
In the seventh inning, Diamondbacks tied the game 4-4 when Parra hit a solo homer (408 feet) towards right-centre. The game levelled until the ninth inning but during the 10th inning, Young walked and Parra scored a tie-breaking run to give the
Diamondbacks a convincing 5-4 lead. Montero moved to third base to end the 10th inning.
Consequently, the Diamondbacks confirmed a 5-4 win in the three-game series against Dodgers at Los Angeles.
