Would you be happy to live in a country ruled by Christian law, such as those in the Middle East that is ruled by Islamic Laws?

Remember that will mean that a child that swears at his parents will be put to death etc. (You know all the laws in the Bible, dont you)

  1. Mainstream Christians do not believe that the law you mentioned is necessary anymore because Jesus came and died for the sins of everyone.

  2. The Christians who oppose the separation of religion and state are simply trying to overturn democracy and start a second civil war!!

What is Christian about forcing people to follow their beliefs - that is dictatorship!!

Boy were the founding fathers wise in foreseeing just how extreme some bad Christians would become!!

  3. well you see i think it'd be nice if we were more of religious group of ppl in the schools but it should be a separation of church and state b/c think of how the Jews felt in Hitlers reign and hoe the Christians feel in the middle east today, i think the Christians should go into the schools to spread the word of God but i don't think that the church should make them be Christians b/c that's how ppl get killed and we should do the work like Jesus would not by forcing ppl to be Christian, that's not the way.

Get what I'm trying to say? I hope you do.

  4. Lol the Mosaic law was not nor is it now Christian law.

We will save the argument on how Christ fulfilled the law for another date.

I am definitely in favor of separation of church and state.

  5. Yes, I heavily agree that church and state should be kept seperate. What angers me, is that it is not totally seperate......even though it's supposed to be.

  6. I believe that God should make the laws of the land and not man.

  7. Did you know that separation of church and state did not become law until the 1950's. Read the first amendment, it says nothing about the church should not get involved in the government. The founder wanted to make sure that the government was never to interfere with peoples ability to serve God the way they seen fit.

A Proclamation for a general Thanksgiving

Throughout the Unites States of America

    In Congress November 1st. 1777

Forasmuch as it is the indispensable duty of all men, to adore the superintending providence of Almighty God, to acknowledge with gratitude their obligation to him for benefits received, and to implore further blessings as they stand in need of; and it having pleased Him, in His abundant Mercy, not only to continue to us the innumerable bounties of his common Providence; but also to smile upon us, in the just and necessary war, for the defense and establishment of our unalienable Rights  and Liberties; particularly, in that he hath been please in so great a measure to prosper the means used for the support of our Troops, and to crown are arms with most signal success.

It is therefore recommended to the Legislative or Executive powers of these several United States, to set apart, Thursday, the eighteenth day of  December  next, for solemn Thanksgiving and Praise: That at one time and with one voice, the good people may express the grateful feeling of their hearts, and to consecrate themselves to the service of their Divine Benefactor; and together with their sincere acknowledgements and offerings they may join the penitent confession of their manifold sins whereby the forfeited every favour, and their humble and earnest supplication that GOD, thro’ the merits of Jesus Christ, would mercifully forgive and blot them out of remembrance; that it may please him graciously to afford his blessing on the government of these states respectfully, and prosper the public council of the whole; to inspire our commanders by land and sea, and all under them, that the wisdom and fortitude which may render them fit instruments, under the Providence of Almighty God, and to secure for the United States, the greatest of all human Blessings, Independence and Peace; that it may please Him to prosper the trade and manufactures of the people, and the labor of the Husbandman, that the land may yet yield its increase; to take schools and seminaries of education, so necessary for cultivating the true principles of Liberty, Virtue, and Piety, under his nurturing hand; and to prosper the means of religion for the promotion and enlargement of that Kingdom which consisteth in righteousness, Peace, and Joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please learn history. You are in a  position of ignorance on the subject, here is a government website that shows of how the Christian religion played a major role in the founding of this great country. If you knew this you would understand that we do live in a country that has been infulenced by Christian laws since its beginning and that the position you hold is in direct contradictory to what the founding fathers intended.
