The Danish sensation’s agent Martin Schoots has explained his client’s decision to put contract talks on hold by stating that his client currently want to focus only on putting in good performances for his side.

The 20-year-old has been constantly being linked with a host of elite European clubs including the likes of Manchester United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, AC Milan and many others following his dazzling showings for the past couple of seasons.
The Ajax management has been keen to extend the contract of the Danish international, which runs until the end of the 2013/14 campaign.
However, the Amsterdammers sporting director, Marc Overmars, recently revealed that the highly rated midfielder does not want to prolong his stay at Amsterdam Arena.
Nonetheless, the Danish wonder-kid’s agent has now revealed that his client has not taken any decision over not renewing his deal with the Amsterdam giants, while explaining that his client only put the contract talks on hold, as he wants his entire focus
on performing brilliantly for the Eredivisie powerhouse.
“Christian has not said no, because no negotiations have taken place. He only told Marc Overmars that this is not the time to be busy with these things. He is focusing entirely on Ajax and will make the decision on his contract with the club in future and
on sporting grounds”, Schoots was quoted as saying to De Telegraaf.
Eriksen, who came through the ranks of Ajax’s fabled youth academy, has been staging scintillating shows for the past couple of seasons. Netting 22 goals while setting up an extraordinary 43 more in 128 appearances in all competitions for the Amsterdammers,
the 20-year-old has undoubtedly played an integral role in his side’s back-to-back Eredivisie triumphs.
The Danish starlet recently revealed that he feels that it is the right time to take the next step in his career, and it seems unlikely that the youngster would be putting pen to paper on a new deal at Amsterdam Arena.
