Christian Eriksen not interested in leaving Ajax Amsterdam

Despite being linked with a number of English Premier League sides, the Danish sensation has denied moving abroad and insisted that he wants to remain at Amsterdam Arena.
For the past year-and-a-half, Ajax Amsterdam young midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Eriksen-c9074, has been chased by a host of elite European clubs following his phenomenal performances at the center of the pitch.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Newcastle United have all shown keen interest in signing the youngster.
However, the Danish International has insisted that he does not want to move abroad at this point of his career and has made it clear to prolong his stay in Amsterdam to enhance his skills further.
“I think that I'm still developing here at Ajax and that the regular playing time that I am getting is making me better and better. I don't see the need for a move at the moment. I feel very much at home here and there is plenty
I can still learn”, Eriksen was quoted as saying to the media.
The 20-year-old, who is a product of the Amsterdammers’ youth academy, was promoted to the first-team squad in January 2010. The technically gifted youngster made his first-team debut against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/NAC-Breda-c39983 on January 17, 2010.
The Amsterdammers’ then head coach, Martin Jol, started comparing the versatile midfielder with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup, as the youngster rapidly became one of the key players in the
squad.
Eriksen has thus far made 71 appearances for the Amsterdam giants, netting 12 goals while amassing plenty of assists along the way.
“I have a pivotal role as No.10, and I obviously also have to be a leader as well. But I'm a young player and I'm still trying to improve things in terms of the image I project and my leadership qualities”, Eriksen concluded.
The Danish ace has an ongoing contract at Amsterdam Arena that runs until the summer of 2014. Pundits suggest that he must remain at Ajax for the next couple of seasons before making his dream move to one of the elites.
