The Danish wonder kid is heavily linked with a summer move to join Manchester United, but his agent Martin Schoots insists that his client’s intention at the moment is to stay at the Eredivisie champions.
Ajax Amsterdam playmaker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Eriksen-c9074, has been heavily linked with a move away from Amsterdam Arena this summer to join a top European club, with Manchester United tipped to be the favourites in landing his signature.
However, the youngster’s agent, Martin Schoots, has now revealed that his client does not plan to leave the Eredivisie champions in the ongoing summer transfer window.
“I can only say that Christian's intention at the moment is still that he will be with Ajax. We must see what the future holds for Christian”, Schoots was quoted as saying to Bild.
The Danish midfielder, who started his professional career at Amsterdam Arena in the 2010/11 season, has been staging exceptional shows since making his debut for De Joden.
Netting 13 goals while amassing an exceptional 28 assists in 61 Eredivisie appearances, the 20-year-old has garnered interest from a host of elite European clubs following his consistent showings.
The versatile midfielder’s agent has confirmed that several clubs have inquired about his client’s availability. However, the agent has denied naming any club.
“I will not reveal details about the clubs we are in contact with or the clubs that we are not in contact with”, Schoots added.
The young playmaker’s agent went on to insist that his client will surely take the next step in his career in the coming years, but he has confirmed that his client’s intention at the moment is to continue plying his trade at Amsterdam
Arena.
“It is obvious that there will come a day when he will move on from Ajax. Like all good players, he will do so at some point, but, right now, his intention is to stay at Ajax”, Schoot concluded.
Eriksen, who has thus far represented http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 in 26 matches, has a contract at Ajax that runs until the end of the 2013/14 season. However, reports indicate that the Amsterdammers management is keen to offer him a new contract
to extend his stay at the club.
