The Nigerian was widely tipped for a move in this summer’s transfer window as many clubs were after him but he eventually chose to play in the German Bundesliga with FSV Mainz. He signed for an undisclosed fee and put pen to paper
on a four-year deal.
Mainz manager Christian Heidel stated that the club as secured the signing of a very important player and was happy that the forward opted for Die Nullfunfer instead of the other teams interested. He revealed that the club has
agreed the contract with the Norwegian side and hailed the player’s ability.
“We are delighted that we are this very interesting player, in which some other clubs were interested in, to bind us. They are in negotiations with Lillestrom already agreed contractual terms have been implemented in our sense,”
the manager was quoted as saying in an interview.
The club’s head coach Thomas Tuchel also had some words of admiration for the striker. He was all praise for Ujah’s ability to score goals and claimed that the striker still has a lot of potential to develop in the future. The
