Christian Horner: RBR did a fantastic job by winning the 2011 constructors’ title – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner lauded his team’s accomplishments in the 2011 Formula 1 season and said that he is really proud of his squad after it’s “phenomenal” victory at the 2011 Korean Grand Prix on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the
Korea International Circuit.
This has been a truly awesome season for the Red Bull Racing team, which has been extremely consistent in its performance throughout the ongoing season.
The only potential rival of Red Bull Racing team, the McLaren-Mercedes team who seemed pretty strong in the practice session and the Qualifiers of the Korean Grand Prix, were out-paced by Sebastian Vettel who won the race ahead of McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton.
Vettel’s teammate Mark Webber finished his Korean race on the last stair of the podium.
The German’s win and Webber’s third-place finish in Korea was sufficient to make sure that the crowning of the team for 2011 constructor’s championship doesn’t get delayed any further. Hence, the Korean Grand Prix saw the Red Bull Racing clinching their
25th title win in Formula 1.
Horner extended warm wishes and thanked to all of his team members for all the hard work they had put in making this success possible. Moreover, he praised his two drivers for their great team spirit.
Horner said, “We had very good pace this afternoon. A second title is testimony to the dedication and commitment of the whole team. We're going to enjoy this moment - it's been a phenomenal period for the team, and I'm tremendously proud of all of them.”
Commenting on his team’s performance in the 2011 Korean race he added, “Sebastian did everything right - he had a good start, made a bold move up the inside into turn four and then controlled the race. All credit must go to Mark Webber as well who tried
everything to pass Lewis who in fairness defended very well and despite being considerably quicker, we couldn't get into the right place entering the DRS zone to make it a one-two.”
Now that the 2011 constructors’ title has been secured, and three races still remain before the current season of Formula 1 seals. The viewers are still excited to see how the teams perform in the rest of the ongoing season.
The next race is scheduled to take place in India, at the Buddh International Circuit, on October 30, 2011.
It is expected to be a one of its kind event in India. With the race being marked with performances by American pop icon Lady Gaga, famous heavy metal band Metallica, Edward Maya, and so much more, Formula 1 viewers are anxiously waiting for the inaugural
2011 Indian Grand Prix to begin.
