Christian Horner: Vettel’s dream of joining Ferrari does not bother Red Bull Racing – Formula 1
Red Bull Racing team driver Sebastian Vettel has been linked with Ferrari for a future dealing in the sport especially after the amount of interest both Sebastian and Ferrari have shown towards each other.
It all began when Sebastian Vettel stated that he would like to sign with a more established and experienced team rather than Red Bull Racing and stated that his most likely options are Ferrari or Mercedes.
After this statement, Ferrari’s boss Luca di Montezemolo stated that he would definitely like to sign the young German with the team sometime soon but since Ferrari’s full season driving seats are already taken for the 2011 Formula 1 season, both of them
will have to wait until the end of this season.
It is believed that they are trying to come up with a deal for the 2011 Formula 1 season but nothing is certain yet.
If Sebastian leaves Red Bull Racing, the team is definitely going to go through a lot of problems but according to the team’s boss Christian Horner, this change will not affect the team too much and it is not likely to happen in the near future since Sebastian
is likely to ‘stay with the team.’
He also stated that Vettel is pretty happy at Red Bull and he does not dream of being in Ferrari. Christian joked that he would get rid of Fernando Alonso so that Sebastian Vettel replaces him at Ferrari.
“The Italians get very excited when world champions talk about Ferrari, so maybe he's been dreaming about Ferrari, but I think that's about all. One of the things we encourage is a freedom of expression and so on, and Sebastian is his own person and he's
got his own opinions,” Horner said.
This shows that Christian Horner is quite concerned about what Sebastian is currently thinking and one has to admit, the main reason behind Red Bull’s success is Adrian Newey and Sebastian Vettel.
“He (Sebastian Vettel) has hopefully got a long future ahead of him but for the foreseeable future, and most importantly the immediate future, he is very much committed to Red Bull and likewise Red Bull committed to him,” Christian added.
He stated that Sebastian has learnt and grown in Red Bull Racing and leaving the team is not going to be such an easy task for him.
However, it is expected that Red Bull Racing team is going to be on top once again in 2011 and it is going to be interesting to see how Ferrari perform as well as Sebastian’s decision will obviously depend on the upcoming season’s performance by both of
the teams respectively.
