Christian Horner expects Sebastian Vettel to stay at Red Bull - Formula 1 news
Red Bull’s team principal Christian Horner has claimed that reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel is absolutely comfortable with the team and wants him for a
longer period of time.
There have been a lot of rumours related to other teams being interested in Vettel because of his ability to deliver top quality results. However, the young driver
has not yet shown any signs of being uncomfortable with his current outfit, which suggests that he will stay here for a few more years.
It is not a hidden fact that Ferrari want to sign the young champion in the near future, despite the fact that they have got a world class driver like Fernando
Alonso in the team.
Although the Italian squad has openly shown interest in signing the German, there are rumours that some of the other teams such as Mercedes have also approached
the 25-year-old for a possible contract.
Looking at the current situation, Horner said, “What team wouldn’t want Sebastian Vettel? He has been part of the Red Bull family for a long time, and he’s an important
part of our success. We have steadily developed along with him. The issue is not so much about the length of contracts, but how comfortable you feel with one another.”
The Red Bull team principal seems quite confident that the youngest triple world champion will stay with the team and claimed that the best has yet to come from
him.
He added, “Seb feels comfortable with us, and we’re comfortable with him. And I have no doubt that will be the same for a very long time into the future.”
At the moment, none of the top teams seem to be in a position to change their driver line up for the 2014 season. Mercedes have recently signed Lewis Hamilton,
who is partnering Nico Rosberg and the pair has been doing a decent job.
On the other hand, Ferrari will also not make any changes to their team, as both their drivers Alonso and Felipe Massa have performed well this year.
However, Red Bull might have to bring in some other driver to replace Mark Webber, who is expected to call it a day by the end of the 2013 season.
