Christian Horner feels honoured to collect championship trophy in Istanbul – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing team principal, Christian Horner has said that he is honoured to collect the 2012 Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship trophy on behalf of his team at the FIA Prize Giving Gala held in Istanbul on Friday evening.
The Milton Keynes based squad successfully claimed their third consecutive world championship title in this season for which they have been awarded a trophy in the FIA ceremony.
Horner said that he is proud of his team which has worked really hard throughout the year with a great commitment despite the hardships faced during the start.
Moreover, he said that they have all what it takes to become a great team. He also said that the victory has given them a lot of confidence, which they have achieved after facing immense pressure in this season.
“This is a phenomenal achievement for our team,” said Horner. “The hard work and the dedication this year have been exemplary - but I think hard work and dedication have been common up and down the pit lane in this fantastic Formula One season. It didn’t
seem possible we could raise our game after last year but I think we have. The team have used every scrap of their skill and ingenuity, they’ve had the courage of their convictions and have refused to buckle under the most enormous pressure. I’m honoured to
collect this trophy on their behalf.”
In addition, he admired the performance of their driver, Sebastian Vettel who became the youngest triple world champion after winning the drivers’ title this year.
Besides, he also appreciated the performance of Vettel’s teammate, Mark Webber who also performed with impressive consistency during the year.
Furthermore, he said that although they have achieved great success in a very little time in the sport, but they cannot take any kind of rest now as the competition is going to be even more intense in the next season. Therefore, he insisted that they are
looking forward to make the essential improvements in their development process so as to come up stronger right from the start of the next season.
