Christian Horner hopes for strong performance in qualifying of Belgian GP – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing team principal, Christian Horner has said that they are hoping for strong performance in the qualifying of the 2012 Belgian Grand Prix.
Horner said that their driver, Sebastian Vettel has not been at his best in the qualifying of the current season as he didn’t felt completely comfortable behind the wheel of his car as compared to the previous year in which he entirely dominated with 11
grands prix wins.
Moreover, he said that although Vettel is not fully contended with his car’s performance in the season so far, nevertheless, they are trying their best to provide their star driver with everything which he may require to get back in action in the forthcoming
races.
Furthermore, he said that the two-time world champion is pushing really hard to claim victories in the upcoming races. In addition, he said that they have full confidence in the abilities of the veteran German driver and his teammate, Mark Webber who have
got the potential to win this year’s championship title.
"In qualifying Sebastian hasn't been as comfortable with the car on the Saturday as he has on the Sunday, or certainly as comfortable as he was last year when his one-lap performances were quite remarkable. But I think he's getting there, I think he's getting
to a point where he's happier with the car; it's getting more to his liking and hopefully both he and Mark can put a strong run of qualifying performances together in the remaining races," he said.
Presently, the Milton Keynes based team is at the top of the constructors’ championship with 246 points and has a superb lead over their major rival, McLaren. Conversely, the current leader in the drivers’ standings, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari has an admirable
lead over Red Bull’s drivers.
Nonetheless, Horner believes that they can catch up the Spaniard in the season ahead and are positively looking forward to win both the drivers’ as well as the constructors’ championship titles this year.
The competition is very tight and the season until now has been very unpredictable, let’s see how all the teams perform in the qualifying at Spa-Francorchamps.
