Christian Horner pays tribute to Sebastian Vettel – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing team principal, Christian Horner has paid tribute to their star driver, Sebastian Vettel who has successfully claimed his third consecutive championship title in 2012 Formula 1 season.
Horner praised the spirit and determination of the veteran German driver who fought for the title right until the end and came out triumphant. Moreover, he said that they had faced many hardships during the season, but the three-time world champion performed
even better in pressure situations.
“He's never given up, never allowed himself to get distracted, no matter whether people were trying to get under his skin,” he said. “The more pressure he has been under, the better he has delivered.”
In addition, he said that they have emerged as one of the most competitive teams in the history of the sport and they have achieved this position very early as compared to the other celebrated contenders.
Besides, he said that repeated success is the quickest way to become unpopular. Nevertheless, he insisted that they are not going to get carried away with their victory and will focus to come up even stronger in the next year.
Additionally, he said that they are looking forward to make the significant preparations for the coming year in order to keep up their level of performance in the game.
“The fastest way of becoming unpopular is to have repeated success. The success we have had does not sit easily with some of our more established colleagues,” he said.
“I think that the most important thing is that you focus on yourself and you remain yourself; you don't try to be something that you're not, because I think it just distracts and that takes energy away,” he added.
Red Bull struggled with their car’s design during the start of the season because of the banning of the double diffuser by FIA and other changes in rules and regulations. Nevertheless, they never backed down and kept on fighting hard until they defended
their championship title.
It will be very interesting to see how the Milton Keynes based team performs in the coming year and how it competes with its major rivals.
