Christian Horner praises Sebastian Vettel’s determination – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing team principal, Christian Horner has praised the determination of their driver, Sebastian Vettel who has claimed his third consecutive world championship title in the 2012 Formula 1 season.
Vettel faced immense difficulties in the season finale held at Interlagos in Brazil and could only secure 6th place finish. On the other hand, his main rival, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari secured an amazing second podium finish. Nevertheless, the
veteran German driver still claimed the title in the end as he stood three points ahead of Alonso in the championship battle.
Horner asserted that they are very happy with their achievement and admired the performance of all his team members. In addition, he said that they had a very stressful race in Brazil, but they limited the damage efficiently and won both the constructors’
and drivers’ championship.
“This is by far the biggest achievement as a team we have ever had,” Horner said after the race. “We were restrained last week [when we won the constructors' in the USA] because we knew the job was only half done and it's been a tough week but everybody
has kept their focus and held their nerve. With what we were faced with today, the race could not have been more stressful.”
Furthermore, he appreciated the performance of the 25-year-old and admired his determination towards winning the championship title.
“Sebastian in particular never gave up and at times was the quickest car on circuit. He really wanted this championship, showed great determination and it doesn't ever get any easier,” he said.
Besides, the Briton said that although Vettel’s car was considerably damaged after the first corner incident, but he kept on fighting hard to claim the title.
Additionally, he also congratulated the Spaniard who has also performed extremely well in this season. Moreover, he said that the 31-year-old has given them a real tough time in this year’s championship.
The Milton Keynes based team has performed with commendable consistency in this season and has shown once again that they are capable of achieving great results.
Let’s see how they come up in the next season.
