Christian Horner says Red Bull is committed to Formula 1 for the long haul – Formula 1 news
Christian Horner says even if Red Bull is not able to perform with the same success they did this year, they are still committed to Formula 1 for the long haul.
The Jaguar team was bought by 2005 by Red Bull, and showed improvements from the word go, relative to the previous outfit and have ever since continued in its uprising to become world champions. They have secured back-to-back constructors’ championships
for the 2010 and 2011 seasons, recording 26 victories.
Horner was asked if Red Bull would consider backing out of Formula 1 after gaining so much success.
“I don't think so,” Horner is quoted by Autosport. “I think Red Bull is committed to F1. Dietrich [Mateschitz] is passionate about the sport and, as a sponsor and a shareholder in another team, Sauber, Red Bull has been around F1 for over 15 years now.”
“Our target is to build on the success into the future, and where you look in the standings, where Red Bull already sits, it is already quite an achievement. We are ahead of some illustrious names in a very short space of time,” he further added.
Horner was quick to mention that Red Bull is sitting eighth in the all-time list of Formula 1 wins by a constructor and is only one behind Benetton, which is an impressive record so far. He also mentioned that apart from the team’s performance and record,
Red Bull as a brand is getting a lot of awareness through its endeavour in the sport.
The audience that Formula 1 represents around the globe is a massive platform for marketing Red Bull and its products. Although it would be impossible to correlate that into a statistical data but there is no doubt in it importance.
The amount of success Red Bull has achieved in the last four years through Formula 1 is incredible.
