Christian Horner says some of the remaining races in 2012 will support Red Bull – Formula 1 news
Team principal of Red Bull Racing, Christian Horner, believes that some of the races in the remainder of the current 2012 season will support RB8.
He accepted that McLaren is giving strong performances over the circuit and told that they have some updates in the queue which will make them competitive.
Talking about the Singaporean Grand Prix the team principal of Red Bull accepted that McLaren have exhibited some impressive performances over the circuit and the upgrades they have introduced are giving good results. Lewis Hamilton of McLaren gave impressive
performance over the circuit however he retired during the Singapore GP due to gear box failure. He was leading the race at that time with a decent gap from Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull.
Christian Horner said, “They've for sure made good progress since Hockenheim and they've brought some good upgrades that appear to have worked well for them. We've got some good stuff in the pipeline and we've been very competitive all weekend here [in Singapore].”
Furthermore, he said that the remaining races are expected to support the Red Bull machine and it is expected that their car will exhibit improved performances in the remaining season. He accepted that the last two races were difficult for their team but
still they managed a second position at Spa. He added that they were unable to make it to the finish line at Monza which is disappointing.
Horner told that they will try to introduce upgrades gradually by the end of the season without violating the laws of Formula 1. The upgrades will add to the performance of the car and will later prove competitive for their car of 2013.
“Of course it's all relevant to next year as well with continuity of the rules. So at every race we will be trying to get a little bit of performance at the different venues, which of course are all totally different. Every race we will try to get something
on the car,” he added.
In addition, he told that Vettel has the experience and he keeps struggling to achieve results. He added that Vettel has given impressive performance over the Singaporean circuit and expressed his views that the championship is open for everyone and it is
just annoying that Fernando Alonso of Ferrari keeps winning every race.
Besides, he said that Mark Webber, Jenson Button of McLaren and Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus are still in the contention of the title because there are still 6 races left in the current season and according to him 150 points are still available.
