Christian Horner suggests his team to remain cautious for the German Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Despite giving marvellous performances and winning the British Grand Prix, Christian Horner suggests his team, Red Bull Racing, to remain cautious in the upcoming German Grand Prix.
He said that they cannot predict the future about keeping the lead with RB8. However, he expects that no particular team will be able to lead the second half of the current season. Furthermore, he added that the main competition will be between traditional
teams.
Fernando Alonso of Ferrari states that Red Bull is slightly faster than other cars. Moreover, he said that this gave them advantage during the last six grands prix and they are holding the fourth position in the championship. He further added it is due to
this reason that they should work hard to reduce the gap.
Horner said, “We were the car to beat at Valencia and we won the British Grand Prix, even though it was a lot closer, but it is difficult to predict form and we don't know how good we are.”
He added although the team is performing well on the circuit but there is a possibility that their rivals may prove themselves better at the race.
“We hope to be competitive here but maybe it will be one of our rivals who will be a step ahead this weekend,” he stated.
In addition, he said that they performed well in two different conditions which was a sign of encouragement for them.
“It is encouraging that two different circuits and temperatures we were quick at two very different venues so that we draw a lot of encouragement out of,” he commented.
Red Bull is leading the contractors’ championship currently with 216 points. Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel have won 3 races in the current season and got 4 pole positions.
Webber was the winner of the British Grand Prix which he started from the second grid position. He has been performing consistently during the season in progress. On the other hand, the German driver managed a 3rd podium position in the race while he started
the race from the 4th grid position.
