Christian Horner supports disturbed Sebastian Vettel after 2012 Malaysian GP – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing team principal, Christian Horner has shown support for his team driver, Sebastian Vettel after his clash with Narain Karthikeyan of HRT in 2012 Malaysian Grand Prix held at Sepang International Circuit on Sunday.
The double world champion could not be able to score even a single point in second race as his tyre was punctured due to the collision with Karthikeyan.
Moreover, disturbed Vettel showed his middle finger, which is quite an unethical expression, to the Indian driver and called him cucumber after the race while added, “Just like on the normal roads you have some idiots driving around, it seems like there
is also one driving here.”
Nonetheless, Horner justified Vettel’s stance and told Sky Sports F1, “These guys get a microphone shoved in front of him just after he's effectively lost a fourth-place position and of course he was annoyed, he vented his frustration.”
“But it's one of those things. I think that any driver in that situation would be totally annoyed with the situation,” he added.
Conversely, Karthikeyan hit back on Vettel and said, “One does not expect a professional sportsman to be such a cry baby.”
He also said that the behaviour of the defending champion was extremely unprofessional.
Furthermore, there have been many speculations regarding Vettel’s penalizing by FIA for the breach of code of conduct as no driver can pass such signals to his rivals during the race.
Besides, Vettel also overlooked the team’s instructions to retire his car as the temperature of his brake was raised to an alarmingly dangerous level during the race. Afterwards, the team clarified that his radio was out of order, however, the case seemed
to be completely reverse.
In addition, Dr Helmut Marko, Red Bull team advisor, also backed up Vettel and discharged all the rumours about him being penalised by FIA and called by the team to report at the headquarters in Milton Keynes.
Marko added that Vettel was scheduled to be at Milton Keynes to work with the team in order to make the necessary preparations and substantial developments to improve the pace of RB8.
