Christian Horner terms Red Bull performance in 2011 Singapore GP as great – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing team manager Christian Horner has described his team’s performance in the 2011 Singapore Grand Prix as a great one.
Horner said that both of drivers Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber performed very well in the Singapore GP held on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
He added that Vettel was flawless during the Grand Prix and managed his first half of the race in a very decent manner.
Horner commented, “It's one of the stand-out venues of the calendar with a really unique atmosphere and it's probably the toughest and most demanding race for the car and the drivers physically, due to the hot and humid conditions.”
He went on to mention, “Starting from the left-hand side of the grid, the dirty side, Mark lost out as others did on the run to the first corner, but thereafter he had a really good race with Fernando and we seemed to be lighter on the tyres than the Ferrari
today.”
The team manager further stated that both of the drivers must keep working hard until the 2011 Japanese Grand Prix, as they need only one point in order to achieve the 2011 title.
After winning the ninth race of the 2011 Formula 1 season at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, Vettel is leading with 309 points in the drivers’ championship. The German is very close to his goal, as he has a massive gap of points from the other drivers in
the championship battle at the moment.
His teammate, Webber had a good stint in the Singapore Grand Prix. The Australian started his race from the second place on the opening grid and after struggling with his RB7 car, he ended his Grand Prix behind McLaren’s Jenson Button, who came at the second
position on the final race classifications.
Webber is sitting at the fourth place with 182 points in the title fight following his third position in the 2011 Singapore race weekend.
Let’s see how both of the drivers perform in the 15th round of the ongoing season, which will take place on October 09, 2011 at the Suzuka circuit in Japan.
