Christian Horner thinks Lewis Hamilton will add performance to Mercedes in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing team principal, Christian Horner believes that Lewis Hamilton will surely add performance to Mercedes in the 2013 Formula 1 season.
Hamilton is definitely one of the most talented drivers in the sports and has achieved so much with McLaren in his career so far. However, his contract with the Woking based team is going to end at the conclusion of this year and he has planned to move to
the Silver Arrows in the next season.
Furthermore, he will replace the record championship holder, Michael Schumacher who has taken retirement from the sport. Additionally, he will drive alongside Nico Rosberg who has been his friend from their days of karting.
On the other hand, McLaren have signed Sergio Perez as the British driver’s replacement for the coming season.
However, Horner thinks that the British squad will struggle without their star driver in the next season as Perez lacks experience as compared to the 27-year-old.
“I think McLaren is a weaker team without Lewis. I think McLaren would admit that,” the team principal of Milton Keynes based squad Christian Horner was quoted by Reuters.
Conversely, the team principal of McLaren, Martin Whitmarsh expressed that the 2008 world champion will face difficulties in the Brackley based team in the next year.
Nonetheless, Whitmarsh said that they wish their driver all the best for the future. He added that they have spent a lot of memorable moments together which they will always cherish in their lives ahead.
Meanwhile, Hamilton said that he is positively looking forward to perform well for his new team in the next season and is eagerly waiting for the fresh challenge in his career in the sport. He also said that he is aiming to take Mercedes to new heights in
the coming year.
Besides, Horner asserted that the Briton is a great talent and will definitely prove out to be fruitful for Mercedes in the future.
“Whichever team had taken Lewis, he would be an asset. I'm sure he will naturally add performance to Mercedes next year,” Horner added.
Let’s see whether Hamilton will be able to achieve his goals in the coming year or not.
