Former France international is gutted by Les Bleus’ early exit from the European championship but believes that Laurent Blanc should carry on as France manager
The 41-year-old has slammed several French players for their non-sporting attitude at the Euros and has also come hard on the team manager for the choices he made during the tournament.

The former Real Madrid man has expressed his opinion over France’s ill-fated Euro 2012 campaign. While talking to reporters, Karembeu stated that it was not the lack of ability that led to France’s early exit from the tournament but it was the “war of egos”
that let them down.
According to Karembeu, there was a clear lack of harmony within squad and certain players were playing for their individual interests rather than for the team.
“I think that this generation of French footballers relies too much on their laurels, contracts, good wages, and their celebrity status.”
The former World Cup winner claimed that players these days consider playing for France as a normal thing and there is no pressure on them regarding that. Karembeu said that back in his days, playing for the national side was like climbing Mount Everest.
“For them (players), playing for France is normal. For me and others, at the time, it was an Everest. "
Christian Karembeu also came hard on Laurent Blanc claiming that his tactics did not help France in the tournament. However, the Frenchman believes that Blanc should carry on as he is the right man to guide http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 forward.
Karembeu, who ended his career at Bastia, said that Laurent Blanc had only two years which are certainly not enough to build a team. Blanc did well in a very short span of time and Karembeu credits him for that.
“I am in favour of maintaining Blanc as the head coach of Les Blues, considering that two years are not enough to build a national side.”
Christian Karembeu retired from international football after making 53 appearances for Les Bleus. He feels that there is lack of understanding between players these days which is affecting this beautiful game.
The former France international has stressed that if players want to succeed at the international level, they need to respect each other.
