Christian Lell assures Hertha Berlin of his commitment levels against Bayern Munich - Bundesliga News
As Hertha BSC prepares for Bayern Munich challenge, right back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Lell-c9096 has assured the capital club of his commitment against his former employers. The player parted ways with the Reds in 2010 after spending more than a decade at Allianz-Arena.
The Bundesliga giants are set to host newly promoted http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hertha-BSC-c39521 on Saturday, October 15, at Allianz-Arena. The current leaders are clear favourites on paper and a win later in the evening would help them extend their lead at the top.
The Bavarians are currently atop the league table with 19 points from eight games, while Die Alte Dame are 10th with 12 points.
Lell has clearly stated that his Bavarian days are already over and now all efforts are reserved for the capital club. He admitted about being the underdogs against a well equipped Munich side but reckons that Berlin could pose threat to one of the strong
title contenders.
The defender also reserved praise for the Reds, who have been ominous so far this season. He felt that Jupp Heynckes’ side could go on and win the title as they seem to be in imperious form and are certainly unstoppable at this point in time.
He also wished luck to his former teammates for the Champions League, where Bayern are currently leading the Group A with two wins from two games.
While talking during a press conference ahead of the game, the 27-year-old added, "We have just sold our house. After my move to Hertha in the summer of 2010, I often returned to Munich. That's over now. We want to have our lives 100 per cent centred around
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536.”
He further mentioned, "I am no longer red, but a 'Herthaner', with the heart and soul of a true Berliner."
Lell started his youth career with Bayern Munich in 1993 and broke into the club’s second string side in 2001. After spending nine years with the ‘B’ team, the defender eventually made his way into the senior side in 2003. He made 65 league appearances for
the club during his stay at Allianz-Arena.
The player also won two Bundesliga and German Cup titles with the Reds (2008, 2010) during his time at Bayern Munich.
